Sugar plums are nothing like regular plums. They are sweet and juicy, perfect for baking. Unfortunately, they are seasonal and only available for a few weeks in July and August. Bienenstich
Bienenstich translates to 'Bee Sting'.
It is a cake made with sweet yeast dough, filled with a vanilla custard like cream. On top are sugared almonds, baked into the dough layer.
This cake is best eaten the day it is baked.
